My first drama
Jun. 20th, 2015 12:56 pmI just read a blog that tells a story about the blogger's first drama. It makes me wondering, what is MY first drama???
The first drama that comes to my mind is Tokyo Love Story. The sweet love story between Rika Akana and Kanji Nagao, and how I hated the ending :P. But then thinking about it again, nope, it went way back before it. I think my very very VERY first drama is The Return of Condor Heroes, starring Andy Lau. I remember watching it together with my family when I was still in elementary school. We rented the videos. :) And after that continue to the other series from Condor trilogies.
I also thought that Tokyo Love Story was my first Japanese drama. But I guess, I just didn't realize that I've watched quite a lot of dramas, even when I was still in elementary school :P. How can I forget Oshin. Really love the story. The impact of the Hiroshima bomb to the Japanese people, how they struggled, is well portrayed which left a deep impression on me.
After that due to schools, I stop watching dramas, not until the booming of Japanese dramas on tv, such as Tokyo Love Story, Ordinary People, 101 Proposal, etc. Then continue to Taiwanese dramas, the very sad dramatic dramas that made me cried almost all the time :) I didn't remember a single title of the dramas though, but I remember watching in one taiwanese drama, the girl has to walk trough 7 gates, while people around her throwing stuff to her as punishment, just because she fell in love with the brother of her deceased husband. Crazy, right?? But I guess, that was the culture during that time :(
Reality life made me stop watching dramas for a while, not until Meteor Garden brought me back. Oh F4 hahaha. Bought the cassette tape of the ost, just shows how much I liked the drama hahaha. But then again, I also bought the ost of Tokyo Love Story :D
Now I am wondering... what is my first Korean drama? How did I begin watching Korean drama?
Aaahhh... now I remember! My very first Korean drama was All About Eve. And how did I know it??? From my mother!! :)) She kept saying that the male lead is handsome, that she likes the drama, and that I should try watching it :))) And yep who can resist Jang Dong-gun :P
But now I just realize that All About Eve was a year before the Meteor Garden??? It means Meteor Garden didn't bring me back to the drama land, but my mother did, through All About Eve, hmmm ... :)))
So, yep, till now I am still watching dramas, although lately I watch more variety shows, the shows that can make me laugh :D I feel now the more I watch dramas, the pickier I become. It becomes not easy to find a drama that I really like. :( But sometimes some dramas can surprise me, they are pretty good... :D. So just keep surprising me dramaland :))
