Drama/movie based on Manga
Oct. 8th, 2015 10:36 pmJust watched today VS Arashi where the guest was the cast of Library Wars (Toshokan Sensou) movie. I did not realize that it was from that movie until someone in twitter mentioned the English title of the movie. I have read the manga but did not remember the Japanese title -_-.
I know that some dramas that I love are based on mangas, such as Hana Yori Dango, It started with a kiss (Taiwanese version). But I have never been into Japanese movies. So, when I started watching VS Arashi shows where many of their opponents were the cast of a movie/drama, I've come to realize that there are so so many Japanese movies/dramas made based on mangas.
Just a couple days ago I read that Yamapi and Ishihara Satomi will act together in 5-ji Kara 9-ji Made. I have read the manga, the idea is quite interesting, but at the end I just cannot finish it coz I just do not understand anymore the way they think and why they do that. For instance, there is a scene that the guy locked the girl alone in a isolated room the whole night and that is supposed to show the girl that she belongs to him??? The guy is just too possesive in a weird way. I understand that this manga is more Josei manga, that the romance is mature and complex, not as simple as Shoujo. But isn't it then the love should be more rational compare to if the leads were teenager?? Or is it some kind of definition love is blind that because of love you do stupid/ unreasonable things??? So yep, I want the female lead to just be with the second lead male... :P
However, when I saw the preview of 5-ji Kara 9-ji Made drama, I must admit that it is quite cute. So, with the cute preview and with two pretty leads I am now curious how the story adapted in this drama. ^^
Sometimes it happens that while the manga itself is very interesting and good, its live-action adaptation doesn't live up to the manga. At least that is what I feel about Rurouni Kenshin. I love the manga, but when I watched the movie... sadly... it is kinda boring :( So I am now wondering whether this 5-ji Kara 9-ji Made drama will be the other way around, that the manga is not to my liking but then the drama is good enough to keep me watching it??? :)
Thinking about it again, I think Rurouni Kenshin is the only manga that I read the manga and also watched the live-action adaptation. I have only either read the manga (and not watch the live adaption) or watched the live adaptation (and not read the corresponding manga). How come? Oh well, I don't know why either, just happened that way :P
